California Covid-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave (SPSL) is back for companies with 26+ employees

Dear Affogato HR Consulting Clients and Friends,

Here we go again!

Senate Bill 114 was signed by Governor Newsom on February 9, 2022 and requires employers with 26 or more employees to provide up to 80 hours of supplemental paid sick leave for qualifying COVID-19 related reasons. Although the law is similar to Senate Bill 95, which expired on September 30, 2021, there are some significant differences.

If you are an affected employer, read more here and contact your Affogato HR Consultant for help navigating this leave.

As always, we are here to help you navigate the COVID landscape and any other HR challenges facing you in this new year.

Lisa, Jonna, Lisha and Karen
