February 11, 2022
Dear Boston Collegiate Families,
Our school’s 2021 report card from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is now available for reflection. This report card highlights key metrics and compares our school’s outcomes and achievements with the average in the state. Such considerations as access to broad and challenging work, post-secondary enrollment, and MCAS comparisons are depicted. I am incredibly proud of the work of our students and staff, and know that the reason why our community continues to thrive is because of the invaluable partnership between you, our families, and the school.
The news is abuzz about Governor Baker’s recent announcement that the statewide mask mandate will end on Monday, February 28th. We will continue with our school-wide mask mandate for the time being; students and staff WILL be masked when we return from February break on the 28th. We will continue to adhere to the city of Boston’s indoor mask mandate. If and when Mayor Wu moves to end the mandate, we will make a decision for our community at that time.
I look forward to seeing you (virtually) at our Quarter Three Family Forum on Wednesday, February 16th, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM! Please join us using the following Zoom link: https://bostoncollegiate-org.zoom.us/j/93924910091. A major topic of our time together will be our recent rebranding project and the impacts it will have on school uniforms for next year.
Best,
Jenna Ogundipe

3rd Black Excellence Event
Thursday, February 17, 2022
Please join us next Thursday in our Upper School Commons for our 3rd Annual Celebration of Black Excellence – the culminating event of Black History Month at Boston Collegiate.
Spring College Prep Day
Wednesday, March 2, 2022
In just under a month, on Wednesday, March 2nd, we will facilitate our second college prep day of the year in the High School. Grades 9 and 10 will take a practice Pre-ACT exam, and our juniors will take the real SAT! This day will be a half day in the high school only, with most students* dismissed between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM after the testing is complete.
Although more and more colleges are allowing students to apply without standardized test scores, higher education institutions can change their policies from year to year. Therefore we still see SAT and ACT readiness and participation as a vital part of our college preparatory mission. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our Director of College Programming, Max George, at mgeorge@bostoncollegiate.org.
*Some juniors who are approved for extended testing time may need to stay beyond 11:30 AM if they wish to utilize all of their accommodations. Mr. George will connect with those students individually to note their testing preferences.
Substance Abuse Prevention Program
Does your child need support with substance abuse? Boston Collegiate is partnering with the Ostiguy Prevention Project to help provide support and resources to any students who may be experiencing trouble with substance abuse. The Ostiguy Prevention Project responds to the impact of substance use and abuse among Boston high school students by providing evidence-based education, prevention, and early intervention services, as well as access to pro-social enrichment activities.
With Ostiguy, we are offering a four-week in-school prevention program for students in need of support. Each session is one hour. Please complete the survey listed here if you would like to recommend your child for this opportunity: English Survey; Encuesta Española.
Senior Trip: CANCELED
Unfortunately due to the low number of student registrations, we have to cancel our senior trip this year. We hope to host another senior event instead. Stay tuned!

Gracias,
Jenna Ogundipe
Directora Ejecutiva
