Men's Group- 3 Part Study on The Shroud of Turin

March 10th, March 24th, and April 7th at 7 am in St. James' room, STFAC parishioner Dave T. will be presenting a 3 part series on the Shroud of Turin. All men are welcome to join us. Please get in touch with Zach Brown at zmb2306@gmail.com with questions.

What Is The Shroud?

"Many of the faithful sincerely believe that the Shroud of Turin is the actual burial cloth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Without declaring its authenticity, Pope John Paul II has clearly attested to the value of the Shroud.  For instance, in 1980, the Holy Father stated, “The Holy Shroud, the most splendid relic of the passion and the resurrection.” Almost ten years later, in April, 1989, he was asked by reporters during an in-flight press conference on the way to Madagascar about the Shroud, and he responded, “It certainly is a relic!”  Again, almost ten years later, when asked if the Shroud was genuine, the Pope said, “I think it is!” (as reported in Columbia, 1998).  The Holy Father has visited the Shroud both in 1978 and most recently in June, 1998."

The Marietta 40 Days for Life- 2022 Spring

Please consider becoming a “Prayer Warrior Partner” during the upcoming Spring 40 Days for Life -2022 Marietta Prayer Campaign which starts on Ash Wednesday, March 2nd. We need people to commit to praying on-site at the Marietta Planned Parenthood (220 Cobb Parkway North, Suite 500). This 40 Days for Life event will run throughout the day from 7am-7pm, 7 days a week, for 40 Days. Our presence in front of abortion clinics has statically shown to slow their business and help prospective clients to choose life! Please consider committing 1 hour of your time - once a week - to praying at the Marietta Planned Parenthood clinic (we need 2 prayer warriors per hour).

Giving Things Up For Lent

"Ask nearly anyone who grew up Catholic what they're doing for Lent, and they'll probably tell you what they're "giving up" for Lent. The notion of giving up some pleasure for the 40 days of Lent is very much in keeping with the penitential character of the season." Read the full article by Fr. Larry Rice below.

Pray For Ukraine- Donate To CRS If Possible

Donate to Help Families Affected in Ukraine Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has created a humanitarian crisis in the region. Catholic Relief Services and Caritas partners on the ground are preparing across Ukraine and in bordering countries, ready to provide safe shelter, hot meals, hygiene supplies, fuel to keep warm, transport to safe areas, counseling support and more. When you donate, you provide immediate assistance for your Ukrainian sisters and brothers affected by this crisis. Click here to donate today. Day of Fasting for Peace Pope Francis has also called for a Day of Fasting for Peace on Ash Wednesday, March 2. At his general audience on February 23, he said: My heart aches greatly at the worsening situation in Ukraine. Despite the diplomatic efforts of the last few weeks, increasingly alarming scenarios are opening up. Like me, many people all over the world are feeling anguish and concern... I would like to appeal to everyone, believers and non-believers alike. Jesus taught us that the diabolical senselessness of violence is answered with God's weapons, with prayer and fasting. I invite everyone to make next 2 March, Ash Wednesday, a Day of Fasting for Peace. I encourage believers in a special way to dedicate themselves intensely to prayer and fasting on that day. May the Queen of Peace preserve the world from the madness of war.
