Dear Parkview Families,
This week we had an exciting day at school when we were able to see smiling faces around the building for the first time in a long time! As many of you are aware, the District 196 School Board held a vote on Tuesday night to remove the face mask mandate in all district buildings and on all district transportation, effective immediately. Face coverings are now optional in all district schools. You may read the full district news release here. At Parkview, we will still have students and staff who choose to wear a face covering and we will fully support each family's decision for what is best for all individual circumstances. I can also share that as we welcomed students in the building on Wednesday, the smiles and waves as we greeted each other was almost like a first day of school. It has been such a long time since we have seen full faces, our students were in a little bit of awe. In fact, I think the adults felt the same special feeling, too.
There is no school on Friday, March 11 due to a Staff Development Day and Spring Break is March 21-25.
We look forward to the warming of spring weather ahead and daylight lasting longer. Our classrooms continue to be filled with engaging learning for our students and many innovative opportunities. Thank you for your continued support!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Nicole Garcia, Principal
