Dear Feminist, 

March is historically an important month for women, since that not-too-far-away first women’s march in 1909. Together with many other feminists, FEL was crowding the streets around Dam Square last Saturday. The feminist cause remains something to fight for, as much as it has ever been. And the recent invasion of Ukraine has only reaffirmed that a world built on aggression only breeds aggression.

This year, March is an even more important month, and that’s not only because of International Women's Day or the traditional Women’s March. This year, municipal elections (gemeenteraadsverkiezingen) will take place and we will all have a chance to let our voices be heard. Whatever or whoever you support, it’s vital that you cast that vote! And remember, #stemopeenvrouw! 👩‍🚀

For these reasons, this newsletter is all about representation, politics, and elections! Jasmijn reminds us that the fight for representation is not over, despite having a numerically equal cabinet. Carlijn and Alessandra present two contrasting opinions on gender quotas, while Luma shows us the importance and the need of a diverse representation. Last but not least, Jeroen offers us two wonderful poems on suffrage.

And of course, how could we not have included the one and only FEL-Fabet? This month, Joos tells us all we need to know about fat-shaming and why it's wrong!
