Join us March 9th for this ALPINE webinar exploring The Institute for Integrative Conservation (IIC) at the College of William and Mary. The IIC at William and Mary was launched in January of 2020 with a mission of cultivating an inclusive community of creative thought leaders to deliver timely and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing conservation challenges. The IIC will be at the forefront of transformational research and education that will ultimately serve to advance sustainability efforts, solve real-world conservation issues, and train the next generation of diverse conservation leaders.

The Institute for Integrative Conservation team will work towards this mission through two main pathways: 1) by bringing together global expertise, diverse perspectives, and an entrepreneurial mindset to address conservation challenges and 2) by helping to prepare the next generation of bold, compassionate, and principled conservationists.

In this talk, Executive Director Dr. Robert Rose will discuss the IIC launch, the definition of “integrative conservation”, the Institute’s foundational activities, and the emerging initiatives including a proposal to support US land trusts and the development of a next generation conservation capacity platform.  In addition, he will discuss opportunities to engage IIC faculty and students on collaborative conservation projects.
