The retreats are all about connection; with nature, each other, and ourselves. The activities are structured so as to calm our nervous system, quieten our mind, and persuade us into the present moment.
With the help of nature, I guide the women out of their heads and into their bodies.
I help them return to their senses. Literally.
It’s no coincidence that the phrase 'come to your senses' is defined as 'beginning to think in a sensible or correct way after being foolish or wrong.'
When we spend too much time in our head, disconnected from our senses, we lose sight of the bigger picture. We fail to tune in to our intuition and it becomes all too easy to spend our days mindlessly faffing rather than doing the work that truly needs to be done.
Do you feel like you need to return to your senses?
A mindful meander in nature is an easy way to come to your senses.
Head off to a wild place nearby. The wilder the better. But an urban park will do just fine if that is all you have to work with.
Set out with no agenda. Let go of the past and the future and be in the moment. Your senses will help to keep you there. Tune in to the world around you. Focus your attention on your senses one by one.
Listen. Close your eyes and move from one sound to the next, searching for the quietest most distant sound.
Touch. Reach out and touch the textures around you. Feel the earth with your bare feet.
Smell. Breathe deeply through your nose and absorb the best ever aromatherapy treatment. Phytoncides, the aroma of the forest, are far more healing and calming than any essential oil.
See. Take in your surroundings as though you had to describe to a friend exactly what you are seeing.
And if you are a confident forager add taste into the mix.
Enjoy.
With love,
Tricia
