A Workshop on nonprofit advocacy in support of our communities with State Senator John Laird Thursday, March 3
from 11 am to 12:30 pm
We invite you to participate in our first program, a virtual workshop focused on nonprofit organizations’ state legislative advocacy, co-sponsored by CalNonprofits and NextGen Policy and our community partners.
This virtual workshop will focus on what nonprofits can and should do, with limited time and resources, to represent and support our communities. What can nonprofits be doing to advocate for our communities in the age of COVID-19 and beyond? What can’t we do? How do we do it without breaking the budget?
Spanish language interpretation and closed captioning will be available. Handouts will be provided in advance of the workshop. Learn more.

Positive Discipline is offering free workshops for parents/guardians followed by co-parenting workshops via Zoom! Available in English on Mondays or Spanish on Tuesdays, attend in your preferred language. Topics will include Parenting styles, self-esteem, joys & challenges, buy-in from children, and connection before correction. Learn more and register.
Offers a steady source of funding for local nonprofits. This spring, we’ll grant over $1.5 million dollars to support Santa Cruz County’s wellbeing, address pressing challenges, and help make our county a place where all can thrive.
Starting February 8, the application for our annual Community Grants cycle is open to all Santa Cruz County-serving nonprofits. We will continue to offer flexible grants that let awardees apply funds where most needed. The Santa Cruz County Long Term Recovery Group is a collaboration of nonprofit, faith-based, local, state and national organizations that work together to share information and resources to help address the needs of individuals and families affected by the CZU Lightning Complex Fires, ONLY. This category is intended for smaller organizations, grassroots movements and local initiatives.
Our community is honored to earn this GLOBAL Award and share our home, Santa Cruz County, with the world!
