Teaching and Learning Remotely

Zoom official logoZoom updates for teaching & learning

  • When self-selecting a breakout room, participants can quickly expand all or collapse all available breakout rooms. This makes it easier to find the desired one, especially when there are many to choose from.
  • An error code now displays on the Update Required prompt. This appears when users try to join a meeting that has features enabled that are incompatible with their own older version. For example, if the host has enabled 2-way chat in the waiting room, which requires a minimum version of 5.8.0, users see an error code along with the Update Required prompt. This can help assist with troubleshooting.
  • When a host starts a meeting from the Zoom web portal, it launches in a new browser tab. This allows hosts to edit polls and make other adjustments more easily.

Canvas

To be released March 3Canvas logo

The Enhanced Gradebook Filters Feature Preview allows instructors to create filters that can be saved or used one time.

  • Liaisons can enable this feature at the sub-account or course level.
  • A Feature Preview indicates a feature option in active development. Schools that opt-in to the feature can join the Community User Group to help improve the feature through direct feedback to Instructure.
  • Additional updates about this feature will be available in the User Group.
  • When this feature option is available for general use, it will be announced in the Canvas Release Notes.

To be released March 19

Panopto

Poll Everywhere logoUpdates and bug fixes have been applied throughout February (2/1, 2/10, and 2/24). Highlights include:
  • Fixes for issues with embedded slides and quizzes.
  • A fix for users who unintentionally remove their own folder access.
  • Improved search functionality within the viewer interfaces.

Qualtrics

  • Qualtrics XM logoOn the new Homepage, only the 6 most recent projects a user has accessed appear on the left. The addition of a search box allows users to quickly find or get to a project without having to navigate to the Projects page.
  • Remove multiple visualizations at a time instead of one-by-one in the Advanced-Reports Visualizations.
