Interim's Update
This Sunday, March 6th, we will follow St. Mark's normative weekly Sunday schedule with 9am Holy Eucharist with Contemporary Music at Church and Online, 10am Christian Education and Fellowship, 11am Holy Eucharist with Traditional Music at Church and Online with Fellowship following in the Parish Hall. With the exceptions of Palm Sunday and the Sunday after Easter, this will be our schedule until June 5, 2022 when we will celebrate Pentecost and begin our summer schedule of one 10:00am service.

The Diocese has new Green Omicron Phase recommendations for worship are available online. Scroll down a little from the top of the page and click on the drop-menu for "Green Omicron Phase" to see the updated guidelines. As St. Mark's has additional filtration (HEPA and UV) for the sanctuary, the Diocese is making an exception that once the Howard County average daily case rate is 10 or under (currently 11.5), St. Mark's may begin mask-optional worship. This may be as early as next Sunday, March 13th, or it may be longer. Consider how you and/or your family will wish to proceed given these changes; and, know that: 1) no that one will be turned away from worship, 2) no one is being pressured to unmask or mask-up, and 3) online worship will continue to be offered.

As we continue to pray for our friends in Christ in Ukraine: Eternal God, in whose perfect kingdom no sword is drawn but the sword of righteousness, no strength known but the strength of love: So mightily spread abroad your Spirit, that all peoples may be gathered under the banner of the Prince of Peace, as children of one Father; to whom be dominion and glory, now and for ever. Amen. (BCP p.815)

To close, I continue to ask your prayers for St. Mark's as we continue to live into this transitional time together, and be praying for your next Rector. God be with you all in this Lenten fast, and take care.

Yours in Christ,
Lisa+
Interim Rector

A Lenten Thought
I am writing this on Ash Wednesday, and I haven't quite figured out what Lenten discipline I am taking on this year (suggestions appreciated!).

If any of you are still puzzling out your Lenten commitment, consider joining the evening Compline service (the link is on the parish website). Folks usually start signing on about 7:50, and we try to start as close to 8 pm as possible. The service starts on p. 127 of the BCP and lasts about 15 minutes. It consists of a confession, a Psalm, scripture, often a hymn, and prayers.

Every night, we pray for the entire parish prayer list. If you have ever been on the prayer list or put someone on it, know that it is being prayed every night, shortly after 8.

Have a most blessed Lent.

Your sister in Christ,
Beth Mitchell

Childrens' Worship Bulletins
Each Sunday you'll find copies of the weekly Children's Bulletins and crayons near the Worship Bulletins.  These bulletins are perfect for our younger ones! Feel free to take one home to a friend.

J2A Dinner and Silent Auction
Saturday, April 23rd
6:30pm - 9:30pm

After a year delay, our youth pilgrimage group heads to The Tetons this summer.  We hope you can help support their journey by joining us for an evening of fun!  More details will follow but think "Boars Head" with a western theme.
(Minor) Sunday Morning Zoom Help Needed
We are looking for very minor help with the Zoom live stream. It requires simply setting up the camera and volume levels, turning on the Zoom broadcast and then going to your pew and enjoying worship. The process is simple and what instructions you might need are written down.  The camera stays static, so there is no manipulation of the camera needed and no decisions about which angle to use.
If you are able to read instructions and can come to church 15 minutes before the service, you're qualified! Please call or email Ron Stup at 410-599-5914/archlarch7@gmail.com.

Thanks to all who have contributed over the course of the pandemic.  The need continues to be extraordinary! Here’s the current shopping list to take with you to the grocery store (you can also download it here):
Items can be dropped off in the bins under the carport at the Parish House.  They are collected each week on Mondays at 3:00.
Food Pantry Delivery Ministry
If you verbally signed up to take donated food from St. Mark's to the Guardian Angel Food Pantry, you should have received an email with a signup genius link. You'll find that link here.
If you signed up but did not receive the email, please let Diane Roca (dbroca@comcast.net) know of the omission so that we can rectify it.
If you have not signed up but would like to volunteer, please follow the signup genius link above, you will find some information about the process.
     Thanks to all!

Ushering at St. Mark’s

Your usher team is looking for more congregants to assist in performing this important ministry.  With a few more people, we will have enough team members so that each of us will serve about once a month.
You’ve seen what we do! Please volunteer so you can do it too!
Contact Randy Scourtis at
trscour@gmail.com or 410.707.2651 to join!

Altar Guild: New Members Invited!

A New Chorister Season!

Prayer Requests
You can add someone to our prayer list from our homepage or by clicking here.
Note that prayers for "Intercession (Continuing)" will be prayed for a year every night at Compline (join us at 8 pm) and every Wednesday morning at Morning Prayer (join us at 9am).  They will also be added to the announcements and commended to the daily personal devotions of all members of the congregation.
Other prayers---Intercession, Repose of the Soul, and Thanksgiving, will be offered on those same occasions as well as on Sunday mornings.  Those names will be prayed for a period of four Sundays.  Please note that the Sunday prayers are printed on Thursday mornings, so any names submitted subsequently will be offered in prayer immediately in Compline and Morning Prayer, but will not be prayed on Sunday until the following week.
You can also remove someone's name from the prayer request submission form.
