The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative invites the Charlottesville community to join us in wishing Alan Goffinski all the best as he leaves the position of Executive Director to pursue an exciting new opportunity with WNYC. Alan has guided The Bridge with radical imagination and inexhaustible energy since 2017. During his tenure, he has renewed the organization’s commitment to local culture by expanding the range and modes of how we bridge diverse communities through the arts. It is difficult to count exactly how many arts initiatives he has nurtured from inception to execution because he has worked tirelessly on so many projects. Yet in each endeavor, we have been able to count on Alan to represent The Bridge’s dedication to community, creativity, accessibility, and inclusivity. Of his time with us, Alan says:
My tenure at The Bridge has been the most fulfilling and enriching five years of my career, thanks to the undeniable passion and creativity of the artists, audiences, and volunteers I've had the honor of considering co-conspirators and friends. It's been an incredible experience to help steward the organization toward a vision of a more connected and vibrant Charlottesville, and I'm very much looking forward to witnessing The Bridge continue to grow and thrive in dedicated service to our neighbors, artists, and each other.
In his new role with WNYC, Alan will produce a forthcoming offshoot of the station’s popular Radiolab program that will be geared toward children. We look forward to tuning in once it premiers in fall 2022 and hope you will join us at a listening party at The Bridge. We are overjoyed for Alan to get a well-deserved opportunity to share his immense talent with a broader audience via WNYC.
In announcing Alan’s departure, The Bridge wishes to make an additional announcement to publicize our search for a new Executive Director who will take the baton from Alan. If you have a conviction that art is a critical component in developing communities and individuals, we encourage you to visit our website at thebridgepai.org to learn more about this opportunity.
