Fesola'i Va'aiga Tuigamala

The AH+ family is shattered today to learn of Inga’s passing.

We were supporting his ODICE project and were very proud of his immense lifestyle changes and weight loss over the last 6 months, resulting in a diet controlled “pause” of his Type 2 Diabetes condition, improved vision and a positive outlook on life.

His example of what is necessary and possible, in terms of healthy lifestyle habits, should remain as a legacy to Pacific Youth.

Sadly he was taken far too soon, sincere condolences to his family.

Rest in peace Fesola'i "Inga".

New Zealand has now moved into Phase 3 of our response to Omicron, in this Pasifika Post we outline important changes around contacts and self-isolation as well as testing.

Who needs to isolate now?
In Phase 3 only positive contacts and the people that live with them need to isolate.

Start by answering the question in the first box "Do you have COVID-19" and follow the arrows after your answers to see what you need to do.
A guide to self isolation
  • Household contacts need to do a test on Day 3 and Day 10
  • If these tests are negative household contacts can stop isolating after Day 10
  • Positive cases can stop isolating after Day 10
Tips to manage symptoms at home
As most people will have mild to moderate symptoms they will be managing their own symptoms at home while they recover. Here are some things you can try to stay more comfortable. Click HERE to view in full size and save.
Covid Testing under Phase 3
Most testing in Phase 3 is Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT).

RAT tests are now available from:
  • Community Testing Centres (you will take the test home and do it yourself)
  • Some GP Clinics (these RAT tests will be done at the clinic, supervised by staff)
  • Some employers
You should only get a test if:
  • You have symptoms
  • You live with someone who has tested positive and you need to do a test on Day 3 and Day 10.
  • Your employer is part of the Close Contact Exemption Scheme (your employer will advise you where to get your RAT tests from).
RAT tests are FREE from these places and the Government has announced they will be available to buy sometime in March.
How to do a RAT test
Dr Api shows us how to do a RAT test. Click here to watch.
You can report a positive Covid-19 RAT test result through My Covid Record as shown in the video below OR phone 0800 222 478 to report it over the phone.

You must advise your employer of your results.
