Cats give humans the greatest gift - their Love. As a Cat Lover, you should be very proud that you give cats the Loving Care they need and deserve. This coming month, please share the love and let's get many cats into loving homes. March is Adoption Month!
How many of us know that great sensation that you are important, worthy of a kitty cuddle on the couch or bouncy excitement at mealtimes? It's not just the food we give them. Cats know how to give love. We see it every day at Cat Beach giving love to other cats and to their caretakers and visitors.
We can and should give our love back to all cats.
Even as I write this, yet another pregnant stray momcat was dropped off at Cat Beach. She is ready to give birth any minute now. Like every cat rescued and brought to the sanctuary, she will need food, meds, parasite treatments and other daily care for her and her kittens. In about 2 months, she will need spay surgery when her kittens are weaned.
Happily, she was rescued by a veterinary student who plans to stay for a week to help out with the Cat Beach Cats. It doesn't always happen but it means so much when a rescuer takes on some of the responsibility for the long-term care of the cat they saved. That's a great example of how to share the love.
So many kittens now to love at Cat Beach. The CB Team is now caring for about 50 kittens - many orphans, some with their moms. They are growing up fast! Usually, Cat Beach waits until the babies are eating on their own at about 6 weeks of age before putting them up for adoption.
This March, Cat Beach will have many kittens and cats ready to love their own personal humans! Please help share the word:

Ever since the pandemic hit 2 years ago, the challenges for Cat Beach have become so much greater. We used to depend on visitors and volunteers who came from all over the country and the world to help with donations and the daily cleaning and care. With international borders still closed, local residents are urgently needed to help hands on. Paid work available. Volunteers always welcome! Donations greatly appreciated.
The cats are so blessed by having a wonderful Cat Beach Team who continue to give long hours of care - but they deserve more compensation like adequate pay, shorter hours, more support. And more helpers to help! If you know of anyone interested in cat care or helping cats in any way, please encourage them to be in touch.

Cat Beach is actively searching for people to join the Cat Beach Team to give daily care to the cats, welcome visitors and improve the Sanctuary.
Qualifications are basic: must like cats!
Some spoken English or Malay, hardworking, reliable. Anyone at any age can help cats! There are so many ways to help!
Most needed currently are:
Cat Caretakers - Cleaners and Carers to clean, change cages,
care for the cats and the Sanctuary Buildings & Grounds - Groundskeeper, handyman, carpenter, painters to build, repair, renovate, maintain grounds, trash cleanup. Reception / Sales / Hospitality - meet and greet visitors to Cat Beach, give tours, help out at the 2nd Chances Charity Store and events Cat Nursing - advanced cat care to carry out veterinarians' instructions Admin / Office: correspondence, data entry, social media outreach
PLEASE VOLUNTEER! Volunteer for an hour, a day, a week, a month or years! See https://catbeachpenang.com/volunteer/ for more info. Housing accommodations may be available for volunteers who wish to stay. PAID WORK Apply for a paid position (independent contractor, stipend) - pay may be available for those who can commit to regular work at least 1 day per week. Benefits may include transport (bus passes or petrol), housing, meals, etc. SCHEDULE: Hours are flexible - 7 am to 11 pm - typically in 4 to 5 hour shifts with breaks - mornings, afternoons, evenings available.
