This Lent, rather than giving something up, why not pick up a book. We're recommending two books to get stuck into during Lent. The first is called "5 Things to Pray for Your Church" by Rachel Jones (£5) – it's a book that does exactly what it says, packed with practical and biblical wisdom to help us pray for one another. The second is called "Gentle and Lowly" by Dane Ortlund (£10) – it's a book of reflections about Jesus' heart of love and compassion for his people.
If you would like to get a copy of one or both books, then please make an order at www.allsaintslindfield.org/lent
You can pay online, or follow another link to pay offline, but please get your order in quick so we can finalise by 12noon on Monday 28 February.
World Day of Prayer
There will be no World Day of Prayer service in Lindfield this year, but you can find paper copies of the service at the back of the church. It has been prepared by women from the UK and is entitled: "I know the plans I have for you."
Confirmation
We are planning on holding a Deanery wide Confirmation service here in Mid-June, if anyone young person or adult would be interesting in finding out more about being confirmed as part of that service, please speak to one of the clergy.
Urgent Help Needed!
Are you free for half an hour at midday on a Tuesday? In order to run our brilliant outreach of Noah's Ark toddler group, we need help clearing the chairs and moving the large rugs. This is an excellent opportunity to keep fit and make new friends as part of a team keen to share the Gospel. If you can help please speak to, or email Janine at: Janine.Bending@Lindfield.info
Opportunity to serve Seniors
Driver volunteers are urgently needed to join the rota to provide lifts to the 11.15am service on Sundays. Please contact the office on 01444 482405 to leave your details and Carrie will be in touch.
Women Together Breakfast
This weekend is your last chance to book our breakfast in church on Saturday 5 March from 8.30–10.30am when we'll be thinking together about change. We all go through seasons of change, so join us for time to reflect together on how we are impacted by change and how we can cope and lean into God. This is a good opportunity to meet together and connect more deeply than there is often time for. We'd love to welcome any who are new to the All-Saints church family. Sign up now by following this link: https://allsaintslindfield.churchsuite.com/events/jotvamxi
or by emailing or calling the church office on 01444 482405. The Women Together team

Beyond All Saints
Big Church Day Out
Over the last few years a number of people from All Saints have attended Big Church Day Out at Wiston near Steyning. Big Church Day Out is a festival of music and worship attended by 25,000 people. This year we have set up a group booking which makes it more cost effective. You can either camp or travel down each day. If you would like to join us, you would be most welcome. BCDO 2022 takes place over the bank holiday weekend of 3-4 June.
Contact myself or Mark Neller for more information. Group book link: https://tickets.bigchurchdayout.com/south/join-us/group-plus/1710/asl21 Steve Hagger
Mission
Mission Partner Focus: Open Doors
This week we concentrate on three countries experiencing severe persecution. This is just a small sample taken for the Open Doors website: www.opendoorsuk.org
Afghanistan
The Open Doors World Watch List for 2022 now lists Afghanistan as the worst country for Christians to live in, replacing North Korea which has been number one for twenty years. This doesn’t however mean that North Korea has improved.
Please pray for
The secret believers to have courage to be a witness for Christ despite the high risks
The Lord to provide sustenance for the Afghans facing hunger
That God would continue to use frontline partners of Open Doors to build connections on the ground.
Myanmar
It is now over 12 months since the coup by the military in Myanmar. Believers have been killed, pastors arrested and churches attacked.
Please pray
That believers will be protected and empowered to respond in a biblical way to persecution
That fighting in the country will cease, and that God will use His church as agents of peace and reconciliation.
Indonesia
Earlier this month a predominantly Christian village was attacked by a group of people from a Muslim-majority village. Dozens of houses and two churches were torched, and hundreds of families have walked over 14 miles to get safety at another village.
Please pray
For this village of believers and for protection over Christians in Indonesia.
If anyone would like to receive copies of the Open Doors World Watch List please contact ropeholders Ron and Janet Goodenough

Prayer
Prayer for Our Community and Nation
Our meeting place until at least Easter 2022 will continue to be the Lindfield Evangelical Church. Please join us on Saturday mornings, 8.45am to 9.30am.
Praying for the Church Family
Please continue to hold in your prayers those known to you who may be especially in need of God's comfort at this time and especially for:
Chris Sexton
Please pray for David and Fay Jones' son-in-law, Chris, who is extremely unwell in the critical care unit of the Royal Marsden. He has not been able to eat for weeks and is very weak. He will likely be in hospital for some time to come. Pray also for his wife, Jack, and their university-aged children, Katie and Joe, as well as David and Fay.
Lu and Roger Seymour
Please continue to pray for Lu's rehabilitation
Al and Sarah Paxton Please continue to pray for Al.
