ISD found fake COVID-19 green passes promoted for sale across French Facebook, Instagram and Telegram, including in pages unrelated to COVID-19, raising questions about gaps in platform policies and France’s legislation.

Casting a net for German-language antisemitic comments on YouTube 
ISD identified almost 198,000 comments on videos associated with keywords deemed likely to attract antisemitism, possibly pointing to a larger trend of rising online antisemitism in Germany. This Dispatches is available in English and German.

Nuanced text analysis at scale: Toxicity detection and digital Salafism
Our Gen-Z and online Salafism series used a toxicity-based approach when scoring a dataset of 3.5 million pieces of English, German and Arabic Salafi content, in an attempt to distinguish between more or less toxic Salafi content online. We explain what this means, why it was important and how it was applied.
