Imago Dei Opening Reception
Sunday, March 6 | 12 - 3 p.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Cathedral Light refreshments: 12 - 12:30 p.m. Program & Artist’s Talk: 12:30 - 1 p.m.

Please join us for the opening reception of Imago Dei, a photography exhibit by Cindy McMillion, in collaboration with the attendees of St. Mary’s Wednesday morning community worship service. The exhibit will be viewable during regular worship hours through Palm Sunday, April 10.
"The photographs in the Imago Dei exhibit are inspired by the men and women who attend Wednesday morning worship and breakfast at St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral. Each week these friends, many of whom are housing-insecure and face tremendous daily challenges, are encouraged to see the image of God in themselves and in others. When asked how they view God and where they see God’s reflection in everyday life, the responses are rich and varied. I have done my best to translate their words into photographs that honor their contributions and, I believe, expand our understanding of God." - Cindy McMillion

Everyday discrimination is recognized as one of the most pervasive problems affecting working women’s physical and psychological wellbeing, professional performance, and career perspectives. It can be defined as commonplace comments, attitudes, and practices – intentional or not – that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative racial, gender, sexual orientation slights and insults to a specific person or group. Most clergywomen report being an object of “everyday discrimination.” What are the best strategies to respond? This is the fifth in a series of six conversations for women in ministry grounded in research from Wellbeing at Work. To register, go to https://tinyurl.com/VTSFlourish.
