On behalf of our Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Beverley Francis-Gibson as Together Women Rise’s new CEO, effective March 1.
As CEO, Beverley will provide strategic and inspirational leadership to our organization, reporting to the Board of Directors and overseeing our staff of eight employees.
 Beverley has more than 25 years of experience serving nonprofits and community foundations. She has an extensive background in philanthropy, fundraising, grant writing, and organizational management. Most recently, she served as President and CEO of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Inc. (SCDAA) based in Hanover, Maryland.
Beverley has worked on behalf of women and girls throughout her professional and personal career. She served on Duke University’s Women’s Services Advisory Council, which was committed to gender equity and social change; took part in the YWCA’s Race Shall Not Divide Us Initiative, and participated in the Women’s Giving Circle in Maryland. She was a member of a women’s delegation to Kostroma through the Sister Cities’ Program in Durham, North Carolina, and in 2019 was a featured speaker at the 63rd Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, which focused on social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality, and the empowerment of women and girls.
A native of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, Beverley holds a B.A. in Public Relations and Communications and an M.A. in Industrial and Community Counseling from Eastern Kentucky University. She and her husband enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with their adult children.

In March, she will be attending our monthly national webinar on March 3, our special International Women’s Day event on March 6th, the March 15th Advocacy Webinar, and our March 29th Book Club event. More info will be shared soon.
