"Canvas, Cocktails, and Cookies: To the Moon" Painting Class Offered at North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum
BISMARCK, N.D. – "Canvas, Cocktails, and Cookies: To the Moon" is coming to the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum on Tuesday, March 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Join Kim Eslinger, working artist, instructor, and gallery and exhibits director for North Dakota’s Gateway to Science, for an evening of hands-on painting inspired by NASA's plans to return to the moon. The event will include a cash bar, and space-themed cookies will be available.
Participants can be a part of a casual class while creating a work of art to take home. Easels, canvases, paints, and brushes will be provided during the program. This program is supported in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which receives funding from the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts. Tickets are $20 and seats are limited. Register at canvas-cocktails-cookies-moon.eventbrite.com.
This program is the first in a series inspired by NASA. Upcoming programs are "Canvas, Cocktails, and Cookies: To Mars" April 12, and "Canvas, Cocktails, and Cookies: To the Depths of the Universe" May 10. “Canvas, Cocktails, Cookies, and Clothing,” inspired by the "Fashion & Function: North Dakota Style" exhibit at the ND Heritage Center & State Museum, is set for June 28.
