I can’t help it— I can’t wait for spring to come. My partner and I share an apartment where we have a balcony large enough to fit a semi-retired couch of ours. One of our all-time favorite activities has always been to sit on the couch together after a long day of work, before the sun goes down, and talk about our days while listening to music. We’re both dying to make that happen again as soon as the weather gets warm enough to permit it.

This month’s song selections are the type of songs we would play while enjoying each other’s company on that couch. I packed in a lot of new songs from my favorite indie rock & bedroom pop artists. I also made sure to sprinkle in a few jazzy rap tracks I recently discovered. Finally, I topped the playlist off with just a bit more bounce to help you spring into action and embrace whatever good things that are coming your way!

This Canadian band never disappoints with their smooth, dreamy sounds and good vibes. Also, what a great name for an album!

I have a confession: Rap & hip-hop have often been some of my weakest genres knowledge-wise, but this Yoruba rapper from London has always been on my radar. Give this full album a close listen, you won’t regret it!

Snail Mail’s songs always make me feel simultaneously sad and pumped up.
