Election Reminders

  • The slate of candidates should be announced and/or published no later than 28 days before your election.
  • The slate does not have to be filled when it is announced.  If the position is filled after the slate is announced, the nominating committee chair will call it a "revised" slate when it is read at the election.  You can have open positions, even after the election.  After the election, it is the new board that fills the open positions.
  • At your election meeting, make sure that the recording secretary enters into the minutes the name and position of each elected person.  This will be important when you go to the bank to change your signature card!
  • Only one person can be president, EVP, treasurer, financial secretary and recording secretary.
  • Parliamentarians are appointed and should not be part of your election.  They will be appointed by the new president at your "Incoming" board meeting in May/June.  Check your bylaws to see if other positions, such as historian, corresponding secretary, or auditor are also appointed positions.
