LHS Attendance Update

Why Attendance Matters
Longmont High School believes that good attendance is critical to academic success and to a successful high school experience. When a student misses a class, they miss a learning opportunity, which cannot be recaptured. Educational research indicates that a significant part of the student's experience is derived from classroom relationships, activities, discussions, and participation. Regular attendance is of utmost importance for school interest, social adjustment and academic achievement, particularly for closing the achievement gap.

Prom & Attendance Update

General Attendance Tips and Reminders for All Students:

  • Leave home 10 minutes earlier than normal to be in your class ready to learn when the bell rings.

  • If you leave at lunch time or your off-block, watch the time closely to allow yourself time to be back and in class when the bell rings.

  • When you hear the 2-minute warning bell, that is your clue to head to class so you are there on time.

Attendance Incentives:

Be on the lookout for individual and class competitions, including Mr. Scheck’s Punctuality Club (on Instagram) and Trojan Time rewards.

If you have any questions about your attendance status, please reach out to your Administrator/Counseling team:
