Hello Families!

It has been three weeks since the Tri County Health Department county-wide mask order expired. Since that time, we have seen COVID case numbers continue to decline. Just today (Friday, Feb. 25), we have seen mask guidelines eased at both the state and national levels. In order to align our policies with these health experts, we have decided that effective Monday, February 28, masks will be OPTIONAL for all children, staff, and family members while in our building.

We recognize some children, staff, and family members may choose to continue wearing a mask while at preschool, and we support that choice. St. James Preschool will continue prioritize providing a safe and welcoming environment for all of our children and families.

As a reminder, we have implemented multiple layered prevention strategies in our building. Additional strategies that will remain in place include, but are not limited to:

  • Increased air ventilation and filtration
  • Frequent hand washing and sanitizing
  • Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch surfaces
  • Reinforcing the importance of staying home when sick
  • Communicating public health quarantine recommendations (the most recent quarantine recommendations can be found on the Tri-County website)
Please reply to this email with any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you again next week! Thank you!

Sincerely,

Hillary Newton
Director
