How can you tell if you need a memory upgrade?

If you spend more than ten minutes looking for your eye glasses, only to find that you are wearing them!

Oh, this was supposed to be about computers...

Computer memory, also sometimes referred to as "system memory" or RAM (random access memory), is part of a computer that can often be upgraded.

I originally published the video about two years ago in March 2020. I am no longer rocking the same hairstyle, in case you haven't seen me in person for a while.

Towards the end of the video, I show how to check how much memory you have in your Windows 10 computer.

Most of what I talk about in the video is still true, though a minimum of 8GB for Windows 10 is much more strongly recommended as Windows and other applications, particularly web browsers, require more and more memory as time goes on. 

If your computer has less than 8GB memory, feel free to contact me to see if your computer can be upgraded. Most good computers manufactured in the last 10 years can be upgraded with 8GB, 16GB or even 32GB.

Recently, a lot of my customers have chosen to configure their system with 16GB when purchasing a laptop or desktop computer. Most of the laptop models that I've sold over the last six years or so can be upgraded to 16GB.

The HP ProBook 650 G1 that I have in stock now comes with 8GB as the standard configuration and can be upgraded to 16GB.

Over the years, I've sold many ThinkPad T420, T430 (and up) laptops and all of those can be upgraded to 16GB memory.
