"Say Something" Sandy Hook Promise

Students are asked to create a profile on the Sandy Hook Promise Learning website and watch the Say Something Core video. The purpose of the video is to build awareness about the signs that signal potential threating behavior and what students can do when they recognize those signs. The video runs about 30 minutes. All students, including seniors, should complete the task. The website and instructions follow.

Instructions:

  1. Register on the Sandy Hook Promise website, https://www.sandyhookpromiselearning.org/student-register/361365 .. Student usernames will be the first name and the first two letters of the last name. For example, if the student’s name is Mary Rogers, then the username would be Mary Ro. The password to enter the site is Patience.
  2. Login.
  3. Go to your dashboard and view the Say Something Core video.

College: Tough Decisions...Tough Talk - Mar 2

From Jewish Family Service Houston:

Join us for an evening focused on understanding the impact of college choices on future career opportunities, as well as guidance for parents and students when having tough conversations around affordability.

  • What matters most when it comes to succeeding in the real world?
  • How can I learn more about investing money, time, and energy in my college experience to launch a career I like?
  • Is it difficult to discuss how we're paying for college?

Featuring Mai Spickelmier and Alan Tenenbaum.

JFS continues to closely monitor the guidance regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and requests the following for all attendees:

  • Presentation of proof of vaccination at check in required.
  • Social distancing observed in sanctuary.
  • Masks required throughout the event.
