The Snow kept coming!

What an amazing day. The recent foot of fresh snow and sunshine has raised everyone's spirits. The Carnival and President's Day are behind us, and we love to see happy skiers on our slopes. There is one more busy race day tomorrow (Sunday) then we can enjoy a great month of March. Tomorrow's U14  giant slalom race on the Allen will bring many spectators and a full parking lot. If you plan to ski you probably want to arrive early.
Overflow parking at Rikert will only have regularly scheduled Tri-Valley Transit shuttle service up from Rikert to the Snow Bowl is at 10:46; 11:56; 1:26; and 2:41. Service From the Snow Bowl down to Rikert at noon; 1:30; 2:45; and 4pm.  At Rikert the shuttle drop off and pick up location is at the end of the lot entrance where it meets Route 125.
Rikert is hosting the BKL Mini Fest relays from 10 to noon on Sunday the 27th.  Then on Monday February 28th Riker hosts the VT High School Nordic Championships. Come on up to watch and cheer!
We look forward to seeing you on the slopes and trails soon!

Patrol Tip: Hi everyone,  Sean here with a patrol tip about ropes and trails.  Often, you'll see a rope going across the entrance of a trail; this means the trail is closed.  When a trail is closed, it's for your safety. We never close terrain because it simply has thin cover spots and may damage your skis, in this instance we will mark the trail with a "Thin Cover" sign. Trails are closed for: Snowmaking in progress, active grooming, race in progress, and hidden unmarked and dangerous hazards such as lightly covered boulders.

When the Bailey Falls Lift is not yet open in the AM or closing at the end of the day, PLEASE don't ski around the top trail ropes to the bottom of the lift.  This could leave you at worst injured and alone at the end of the day - or standing around waiting for a long time/hiking out in the AM if the lift is not cleared to run.  Open Backside trail ropes doesn't just mean the trails are safe, it also means the lift is open and running.

Have fun and be safe.
