The start of spring is only a few weeks away and the City is in bloom for a great season ahead. As my time as City Manager comes to an end, I am proud of all that we accomplished and I am confident that the City will continue to move forward.

City Manager Andy Stewart Accepts Job in Nyack


                 
City Manager Andy Stewart has accepted a job as Village Administrator in Nyack starting in March 2022. We are thankful to Andy for his two years of leadership here in Peekskill and wish him all the best as he begins a new chapter. Department Spotlight: Police Department


                 
The Police Department, led by Chief Leo Dylewski, provides law enforcement services to help make Peekskill a safe place to visit, live, and work. The Police Department is currently staffed with 50 sworn officers and hopes to add additional officers by the end of the year. During the 2021 year, the department received over 40,100 calls for service and generated over 10,000 incident reports. The department goals for 2022 include assigning a Sergeant to bring back the Community Policing Unit, the return of Coffee with a Cop as well as other community outreach events, implementation of Crime Deterrence Initiatives, and continuing to implement the recommendations from the Police Reform Taskforce

Brian Fassett Appointed to Fill Vacant Council Seat

Peekskill Youth Bureau Teen Cooking Classes


                 
The Peekskill Youth Bureau will be holding free teen cooking classes with Chef Charles' Kitchen on Mondays from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm through March 28th at their location at 828 Main Street. Gain some confidence in the kitchen and improve your cooking skills by clicking here to register. Maple Sugaring Workshop Extended


                 
Due to popular demand, the Parks and Recreation Department has extended its maple sugaring workshop! Join instructor John Neering on March 5th and March 12th from 9:00 am - 10:30 am and 11:00 am - 12:30 pm for some fun hands-on learning for all ages. Peekskill St. Patrick's Parade


                 
The Peekskill St. Patrick's Parade is back! Wear your green and celebrate St. Patrick's Day at the 31st Annual Peekskill St. Patrick's Parade on Saturday, March 12th at 3:00 pm in downtown Peekskill with John Testa as this year's Grand Marshal. 
Peekskill Agencies Together Virtual Meeting


                 
Join the Peekskill Youth Bureau at the Peekskill Agencies Together (P.A.T.) virtual meeting on Wednesday, March 16th from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Zoom. The meeting will include a greeting and updates from Westchester County Legislator Colin Smith, a presentation from Peekskill City School District Superintendent Dr. David Mauricio on supporting students and families through equity and service, and a Healing Forward Committee update. The Peekskill Youth Bureau will be holding a job fair on Wednesday, March 23rd from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Peekskill Central Fire Station located at 1141 Main Street. Women's History Month Celebration


                 
Join the Peekskill Youth Bureau for their annual Women's History Month Celebration on Thursday, March 24th at 6:30 pm at their headquarters located at 828 Main Street. This year's celebration will be honoring Assemblywoman Sandy Galef with the Trailblazer Award, Millie Guerrero with the Outstanding Service Award, and Marquette Hairston with the Outstanding Service Award. Peekskill Youth Bureau Spelling Bee 


                 
The Peekskill Youth Bureau will be holding a citywide spelling bee on Saturday, April 30th at 12 noon for grades 6-8 at their headquarters located at 828 Main Street. For those who would like to participate, please click here to register for your chance to win a cash prize!
AARP Tax Help 


                 
Tax season has arrived! For those who need assistance, there will be AARP tax preparation services available every Friday until April 15th starting at 9:30 am in the Senior Club room, located below the Field Library, by appointment only. Peekskill Farmers Market Applications Now Available
 

Applications for the Peekskill Farmers Market are now being accepted! This year's market will be held on Saturdays along Bank Street from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm starting on June 4th through November 19th. Black History Month Celebration
