Welcome to March!

What a privilege to have the support of the program, each other, and a higher power of our own understanding – no matter the challenges we might be facing right now. As our third step reminds us, we “made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understand God”.

We look forward to seeing you at a meeting soon as we continue to face the path ahead with serenity, courage and wisdom.

📰 Read all about it

Have you ever wanted to be the editor-in-chief of South Australia’s hottest publication? Okay, it may not be the hottest, but our little ACA SA Newsletter certainly keeps our fellowship in the loop…

There is now a vacancy for the role of Newsletter Co-ordinator. We’ve been using a program called Mailchimp to compose these newsletters, and we’d be happy to teach you how it’s done. If you’re interested in serving in this way, please let us know!

Also, we still have a vacant position for Treasurer. This role includes the authorisation of various online banking transactions (rarely any physical cash), and the sharing of a brief Treasurer’s Report at monthly Intergroup meetings. We greatly welcome your service.

📄 Intergroup minutes

The minutes from the most recent Intergroup meeting are now available online. You can access these proceedings (including the current monthly Treasurer’s Report) via the link below.

Please note that this will be the last Treasurer’s Report until a new Intergroup Treasurer is appointed.

✨ Vision Meeting: Part 2

The first Vision Meeting for a more co-ordinated and unified ACA in Australia and New Zealand took place last month, and we’re grateful to Jodie R who attended to represent our fellowship in SA.

If you missed it, not to worry! There’s another meeting planned that will discuss this idea further, and all interested group and individuals are welcome.

It’s happening Saturday March 12th @ 2:30pm (Adelaide time) via Zoom. The Meeting ID is 913 2607 8635, and the password is Steps.

Dr. Richard Schwartz’s Internal Family Systems (IFS) model has been transforming psychology for decades. With No Bad Parts, you’ll learn why IFS has been so effective in areas such as trauma recovery, addiction therapy, and depression treatment―and how this new understanding of consciousness has the potential to radically change our lives.

We’d love to hear which books are helping you on your ACA recovery, so that we can share it with the rest of our bookworm members!

⭐️ Next Intergroup meeting

As always, you’re welcome to join us on the last Thursday of every month for our ACA SA Intergroup meeting.

When: Thursday March 24, 2022 from 7-8pm
Where: Zoom [http://bit.ly/aca-sa-intergroup]

Along with the latest updates from our members, we will be reading from the Big Red Book on Tradition 3: “The only requirement for membership in ACA is a desire to recover from the effects of growing up in an alcoholic or otherwise dysfunctional family.”

That’s all from us for now. We hope that March brings you everything you need to face whatever challenges are around the corner.

“On this day I will accept the challenges that are placed before me, knowing that I have both the support of my fellow travellers in the program and my Higher Power, who is ever present.” (Strengthening My Recovery, March 3)
