Welcome to the Team!

We are happy to announce Pam Fisher as the new chairperson of Roberti Community House Board of Directors. Pam has been a part of this organization since 2013 starting as a Volunteer, moving to  Program Coordinator of youth programs and volunteers.. As a board member her vision and passion continues to strengthen our programs and increase volunteer opportunities.

“Getting to know the RCH community has shown me the impact that empowering a community through connection and opportunity can provide. I am so happy to support the mission of RCH and look forward to contributing to our growth in the future.”

Meet Ambar Marquez, our new Office Manager at Roberti Community House. Although new to RCH, Ambar is no stranger to helping the community. She has worked with fellow community organizations such as Mano a Mano in the past.

“As someone who has seen and lived through the struggles first hand, it makes me happy to be able to serve a community with so much potential as the one at RCH. I hope to help expand our outreach and offer my help to as many people as possible.”

Please come by and welcome Ambar!

What Difference a Meal Makes

Antonio is a member of the community that came to Roberti Community House initially for our food support during a very difficult time.
Last spring, Antonio’s mother became sick with COVID-19 and became hospitalized for eight days. She was able to return home with 24 hour assistance. Antonio left his job to care for his mother, which unfortunately caused a cascade of negative consequences. Not only did they have to take on a huge medical debt, purchase groceries was a challenge, were at risk of getting their utilities shut off, and were unable to pay their rent resulting in almost being evicted. In a moment of desperation, Antonio turned back to RCH where  he was able to talk and come up with a plan. We continued support of fresh  produce and prepared meals until his mother was able to get stronger. RCH staff also guided him in applying for rent and utility assistance, and helped mediate negotiations with his landlord. The best news of all, he is back at work on the 3rd shift which allows him to be able to be home during the day to care for his mom.
The pandemic has impacted people beyond there their health, it is only the start of many hardships that seem never ending. Here at RCH we are  happy to provide assistance in any way we can , including pointing our community members to additional resources and programs. We are here to help!
