Dear NoMiWoman Readers,

The Mar/April Career Issue is released today! The tenacity and grit comes pouring off these pages as our women writers share their career journeys. Perhaps we need to call it the GRIT issue!

A year ago, I was faced with a major career choice of my own: to retire from the publication world, or continue on with a new magazine. Well the choice was obvious! Since then, I’ve molded a new world for myself. Although not an easy road, it has been very rewarding. Today I find myself at a happy balance of running Northern Michigan Woman Magazine and working with Michigan Legacy Art Park as their Community Engagement Manager.

In turn, I look at my NoMiWoman team and see myself reflected back. All the women on the team have additional commitments serving in other areas of our community – from being employees, entrepreneurs, volunteer committees, you name it - they are happily immersed in growing the many facets of their skill set and natural talent in their career journeys. Again – the grit is there!

Take a moment to read our pages, support our advertisers, and think about your own grit with each turn in your journey. Enjoy our digital issue, with the print version hitting newsstands soon!

Sincerely,
Kerry

A big thank you to Kim Becking - Momentum Motivation! Our speaker Kim Becking was phenomenal during our February NoMiWoman CONNECTIONS luncheon! She spoke about a Momentum Mindset and boosting resilience and how to move forward. Here is a snapshot of things she encouraged us to process and move forward with the rollercoaster of life. She gave us practical, immediately actionable strategies to reduce stress, overwhelm and burnout.

On Wed. March 16 from noon to 1pm via Zoom, we will lunch with Shawna Suckow!

Shawna is an internationally acclaimed speaker who is the author of 5 bestselling books. Shawna shares how we are in the most disruptive business climate we’ve ever experienced and that it requires a keen understanding of your customers and how they’re making purchasing decisions now.

Whether it’s B2B, at the local market, or e-commerce, how can you rise above the noise and stand out to them going forward? Shawna will show us how your customers have evolved as a result or the pandemic, and what businesses need to do to adapt.
