Week of February 28 - March 5 2022

We are headed into the busiest time of the year for RCIA! Please read through this email carefully as it has lots of info about all the activities coming up!

Tomorrow, Tuesday March 1st is Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday! It is the day before we start our Lenten season and preparation for Easter. Our parish is hosting a parish-wide potluck dinner to celebrate. Join us tomorrow night for some fun!

Wednesday is the start to the Lenten Season with Ash Wednesday. It’s called Ash Wednesday because during Mass we are invited to come forward and have the Priest rub ashes on our foreheads to remember that “we are dust and from dust we will return.” Here’s some resources to study more about this day.

Here is the Parish-Wide schedule for all the important dates and mass times for this Lenten Season

We will be holding class this Wednesday at 6:30pm in the Assisi Room. We will all be learning about Lent, and the Elect group will be discussing how to use this Lent to prepare themselves to receive their sacraments this Easter.

This coming Sunday, March 6 we will have 2 important Rites for those receiving their sacraments this Easter. at the 10am Mass we will have the Rite of Sending where we as a parish send the Catechumenates and their sponsors to the Cathedral. Then at 2pm at the Cathedral in Sacramento they will have the Rite of Election or Call to Continuing Conversion. It will be a great day!
For those of you going to the Cathedral, make sure you come to class on Wednesday to receive instructions and a seating chart.
