Embassy Row Chocolate Tour: Special Guided Walking Tour
For more information and tickets, please visit their event page!

Valentines Day may have ended, but its chocolate still thrives around the world (and in your own backyard)

Explore one of the most culturally fascinating areas of Washington, D.C. - "Embassy Row". In a single afternoon, you'll stand at the borders of Ireland, Romania, Turkey, Vietnam, Indonesia, and more!

Someone said, decades ago, that in order to thrive as part of the Embassy Row scene, three things were needed: "protocol, alcohol, and geritol..." Fast forward fifty years as we take a walk along one of Washington's most famous grand boulevards- Massachusetts Avenue's Embassy Row. You will see some of the city's grandest homes, learn about the foreign governments that now call them home, as well as the scandals and stories of the residents who used to own them. Ever wonder if the curse of the Hope Diamond is true? Come join us and find out!In addition, we'll sample some of the most romantic chocolate from several different international countries!

As if we were trick or treating, we'll each savor pieces of valentines chocolate commonly used to romance each other during Valentines or other romantic holidays at continents across the globe!

(Note: There is an outdoor tour.  While we may try to make arrangements to visit inside some diplomatic residences, this is not promised  Expect most - if not all - of the tour to be an outside walking tour).

Stay Alert: GUPD Officer impersonations

Taken from the community alert sent out by GUPD: "Affected community members report that they have received calls or texts from an unknown individual appearing to use the GUPD phone number (202-687-4343), claiming that they are a GUPD officer, and threatening arrest. This is known as Caller ID Spoofing.

In most reported cases, the individual identifies himself as “Officer James of GUPD”, tells the recipient that they have been named in a drug-possession arrest warrant, and threatens to arrest them.

If you have any information about this, or receive such a call or text, do not engage or provide any personal information, hang up, and call GUPD right away (202-687-4343) or text using the LiveSafe App so that the matter can be investigated. Please be assured that a call to 202-687-4343 will go to the Georgetown University Police Department and will not call back the impersonator. "

Spring Break Safety Tips

We hope you are looking forward to Spring Break! If you are leaving your home for the break, here are some suggestions to help you have a safe vacation. Start planning for your break now!!
  • Let your neighbors know you won't be home and ask them to keep an eye on the property. If you have built a positive relationship with your neighbor, you may be able to ask them to take your garbage bins out and back from the curb or alley following your departure. They can also let you know if something looks suspicious.
  • Make sure all your doors and windows are locked. Also consider closing your blinds so criminals can't see into your residence.
  • Don't share that you are leaving your property for an extended period of time, or the details of your trip on social media.
  • Unplug all unnecessary electronics. This helps protect them in the event of a thunderstorm, and reduces the electricity bill while you are away.
