Take your career in Youth Health to a higher degree

At the University of Auckland you can study the Youth Health specialisation in either a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences, a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences or Master of Health Sciences.

There are a number of courses you can take in the Youth Health specialisation and we currently have limited places available in:

PAEDS 719 – Health, Education and Youth Development
Starting Semester 2, 2022

This paper can be taken as a stand alone certificate of profieciency, or as part of a PG Cert or Dip in Youth Health.
It examines the overlap of health and education in the context of youth development. It reviews the 'business' of schools, the Health and Physical Education curriculum, school-based health and support services, whole-school approaches to health, and the health and education needs of students not engaged with the school system.

This postgraduate course is offered through a blend of on-campus and online delivery and is ideal for professionals working with young people in health, education and social service settings.

As with many events, due to the pandemic, the School + Youth Nurses conference has been postponed.

The new dates are the 3rd & 4th October, 2022.

The good news, is that if you're new to school nursing, or if your circumstances have changed and you can now attend, there is plenty of time to register to attend.

You may have seen on our social media channels that NZSN are 'Walking the Talk' with Youthline this May to support Youth Mental Health. Sign up as part of our NZSN team and get walking here, or support by making a donation.
