CLC Community Perception Survey

(5 questions)

The Community Learning Center (CLC) has been the combined home of the Library, Park and Recreation, and Health departments for nearly 9 years. The original vision for the CLC was to combine similar departments in one building to create cost efficiencies, improve customer service, foster closer relationships between services, and enhance educational opportunities for residents.

As a visitor to the CLC within the last 2 years, please consider providing your feedback about your experiences and perceptions of this combined facility. Your responses will increase our awareness of your opinions and provide information necessary to advocate for adjustments.

Book of the Month

Skip the long wait-list and pick up popular titles today with our Lucky Day Book of the Month! Each month we choose a popular book and purchase extra copies that are available for immediate checkout. The Lucky Day book for this month is The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley.
"Jess needs a fresh start. She's broke and alone, and she's just left her job under less than ideal circumstances. Her half-brother Ben didn't sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn't say no, and surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up, to find a very nice apartment, (could Ben really have afforded this?) he's not there. The longer Ben stays missing, the more Jess starts to dig into her brother's situation, and the more questions she has. Ben's neighbors are an eclectic bunch, and not particularly friendly. Jess may have come to Paris to escape her past, but it's starting to look like it's Ben's future that's in question. The socialite. The nice guy. The alcoholic. The girl on the verge. The concierge. Everyone's a neighbor. Everyone's a suspect. And everyone knows something they're not telling".-Taken from CountyCat.

Director's Message

Dear Library Lovers -

Public library work, like many other jobs, is seasonal and cyclical. Of course we have Summer Reading, annual budgets, and back to school. But we have tax season too. Believe it or not, we expect to receive calls about paper tax form availability within the first week of January every year! Tax season reflects how broad the library's range of services are. It also reinforces the reality that in 2022 still not everyone has an internet connection or a computer at home, or the skill to do something cumbersome like file taxes online. This year the State of Wisconsin decided to direct taxpayers to their website for tax instruction booklets, with libraries receiving only forms for distribution. Regardless of your opinion on the matter, the world continues to move away from paper to digital world. But in this world the library tries to be both ‘paper’ and ‘digital’ to support all members of our community. We appreciate your support so we can continue to bridge these divides and provide something for everyone.

Speaking of cycles, please take a look at the 2021 in Review-Greendale Public Library Community Annual Report to read a selection of highlights from the past year. Hot off the press!

I look forward to seeing you in the Library.
