YOUTH MEETING--Fr. Halt would like to meet with Jr. & Sr. High youth on Sunday the 27th of February at 6PM in the Great Hall to discuss a potential mission trip on 2023. Dinner will be provided.

SHROVE TUESDAY--The Men of the Church will be hosting the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper beginning at 5PM on 3/1.  All are welcome.

Palm Collection--There is a basket located at the back of the church for last year's palms.  We will be burning these for use on Ash Wednesday on the 28th of February.

Bishop's Visit & Confirmation--We received word, this week, that Bishop Sumner will be making his Episcopal Visit to St. James on 3 April.  He will also be conducting Confirmations on that day.  Adults who participate in last fall's newcomers class have met the requirements to be confirmed.  Please let Fr. Halt know if you wish to be confirmed when Bishop Sumner visits.

Youth Confirmation classes, for those 14 and older, will be offered beginning on March 6th at 6PM.  This will be a four week course and each evening will include dinner.  Please let Fr. Halt know if you are interested in confirmation this year.

THE 2023 VISITATION WILL BE MADE BY BISHOP MICHAEL SMITH ON 23 APRIL 2023.  YOUTH CONFIRMATION CLASSES WILL BE HELD FROM JANUARY TO APRIL OF NEXT YEAR IN PREPARATION FOR THAT VISIT.

LOOKING TO LENT--
In addition to our regular Sunday School offerings, an additional adult class will be offered at 9AM.  The focus of the sessions will be "Meditations with English Christianity" and our conversation partners will be some of the greatest spiritual minds from the Middle Ages to Modern times.

Wednesday evenings during Lent we will study, and pray together, one of the greatest early hymn writers of the Church, St. Ephrem (or Ephraim) of Edessa. His hymns are some of the most beautiful discourses on the Crucifixion and Resurrections produced before the modern period.  He gives us a flavor of not only ancient Christianity, but Christianity in modern Syria and Iraq.

We will also offer a public service of prayer and worship each week day in Lent, including our regular Wednesday evening programming.
