Pop-Up & Poetry is a poetry series dedicated to the synergy of BLACK lyricism, artists, and space in the home of Nubian Hueman.
- Due mature content and sexuality, this event is for ages 21+.
- Beverages, snacks, and after-hour shopping will be available.
- Open Mic starts promptly at 7:05pm.
- Seating ranges from floor pillows, chairs, to standing room and is available on a first-come / first-serve basis.
- Anyone needing reasonable accommodations, please notify us prior to the event.

A tasting with Arcay Chocolates and a book talk at La Cosecha, a contemporary Latin American marketplace in Washington DC.
About La Cosecha (From our book 111 Places in Women's History That You Must Not Miss. "Food halls and urban markets are making a comeback in cities across the country. In DC, Union Market District is bringing our city’s historic markets back to life with a modern-day market district and dining destination created from the original Centre Market from 1871 and the Union Terminal from 1931. The most recent addition to the neighborhood is La Cosecha, which means “the harvest” in Spanish. La Cosecha is a contemporary market that celebrates Latin American culture with an emphasis on female entrepreneurs and innovators. The space merges art, heritage, culture, and food in a warm and welcoming environment that brings the diversity of Latin American culture under one roof."
Guests will participate in a chocolate tasting with Chocolatier Anabella Arcay as well as a book reading from 111 Places in Women's History That You Must Not Miss.
