Presidents Message

Street Series #4 - this Friday 25 February at Brooklands.  The Start is in Albert Street, near the Robin Hood hotel
There will be an Easy course of 2km, plus 4 levels of Scatter course, 10, 15, 20 and 25 controls. You plan your own course to find your chosen number of controls. Clinton Russell is the course planner.
Starts are from 6 – 6.30 pm (please don’t be late) with control collection at 7.30pm sharp.
Calare Street event, 18 February
Our third event was well organised with interesting courses. A big thank you to Tom Carter for planning the courses and putting out the controls. The Easy course went round the Wetlands area, and there was a range of scatter course options. It was a lovely mild summer evening.
We had 38 participants. It was good to welcome back Michelle McRae, who won the Scatter 15. She was closely followed by Matthew Slater, who moved up to the challenge of the Scatter 15. Nick Wilmott and Cam Schubert battled it out on the Scatter 25. Nick had the advantage of doing it on his bike, whereas Cam did it on foot. Nick recorded a distance of 8.5 km whereas Cam recorded 10 km, indicating the differences in route choice. Abi Stevens and Kath Bennett won the Scatter 10 again. It was good to have Debbie and Alex Davey from the Wagga Club at the event, they are currently remapping the Rocky Falls area of Mullion State Forest for our club event later in the year.
Thank you, Jean, Margaret and Tom, for doing the registration and timing. Thanks to those who pre-entered via Eventor as this makes our job a lot simpler and paying into Goldseekers account.
