Bryan turned 3 in January

The most exciting news we have to share from Honduras is Bryan will be having his first surgery for his Cochlear implant on THIS SATURDAY, February 26th. We are overjoyed and amazed at how our loving Father has provided all things necessary for this to take place.  Please be in prayer for the doctors, for Heidi (his mom), and Bryan.  There will be a one month gap before a second surgery.  On that date, LORD willing, Bryan will be able to hear his mom’s sweet voice for the first time ever.  What a joy that will be!  I anticipate our next newsletter including a very sweet video clip.

Can you believe we are already 2 months into the new year?  January saw John and I both sick and confined to the house for about 2 weeks.  We are thankful for the care our team gave us, and their patience as we regained energy.  We were just getting back into the swing of things when we needed to return to the States two weeks earlier than an already planned trip.

We received a call that our daughter, Rebekah, had some health issues.  Thankfully the LORD provided, and we were able to change our tickets and go spend some time with her.  She is doing better, however, we do ask for continued prayers for her health.  We ask that you pray as the Holy Spirit directs you in regards to her spiritual, mental and physical health.

The unexpected early return to the States also allowed us to see the other kids and John’s parents.  We are so very thankful to the LORD that He allowed us to have that short time with them.  Never knowing when we will see our parents and kids next is something we are still adjusting to.

On February the 10th, we resumed our normal itinerary

*we visited Christ Community in Gainesville, FL

*spent four days with our MTW counselor and a follow-up with Cereset Therapy

*weekend visit in Orlando with dear friends/supporters

This week and next…

*I will be attending the PCA women’s leadership conference in Atlanta.

*Ending our trip with a visit to Redeeming Grace in Lake Wylie, SC

*Returning home on March 1.

We weren’t the only ones sick in January. Pretty much our whole team had someone in their family that caught the ‘bug’.  So, we were sparse in numbers the night we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of Puerta de Esperanza (PDE), the girl’s home.  We have seen the home serve several girls and their babies over the last ten years.  Not all the stories have turned out with happy endings.  But, we trust that God is still writing their stories.  Their time in PDE was just a chapter where we hope and pray that the seeds planted were done so on fertile soil.

Praises:

*The provision of the Cochlear implant for Bryan

*We recovered from our January illness and were able to return to the States with no issues

*We were able to see all our kids this month, as both sets of parents.

Prayers:

*Continued healing for our daughter Rebekah

*Bryan’s surgery

*Safety as we travel throughout FL, GA, SC, NC and back home to Honduras
