SORTED

AXIS and SORTED in Hillingdon have made us aware of a growing trend among young people using a gasmask bong to inhale THC oil. Gas mask bongs, are also known as gas mask steamrollers or oxygen mask bongs. They are popular around festivals and have a reputation for providing quick and powerful highs.
If you are concerned about your child's drug use, please get in touch with SORTED directly on 01895 250 721.

SORTED, is a confidential service for 11 to 25-year-olds in Hillingdon who are experiencing a drug or alcohol-related problem.

SORTED also offer an informal personal appointment system and support and advice to family members and friends.

If you're ready to speak to someone and tell them what the problem is, call SORTED on 01895 250721.

ARCH Hillingdon

If you or anyone you know is struggling with addiction, ARCH is a free and confidential service for young people and adults who live or are registered with a GP in Hillingdon.

ARCH offers a range of treatments for adults and young people who are local residents or have a GP in the borough of Hillingdon.

ARCH work with individuals at any stage of their problem and provide a single point of access to assessment and treatment, for drug or alcohol problems.

Many people turn to drink or drugs as a way of dealing with negative feelings, such as depression, stress, trauma or anxiety. We recognise the importance of providing treatment for both the substance misuse problem, as well as any associated emotional / mental health issues.

THE POTENTIAL STRESS RESPONSES OF KIDS IN A CLASSROOM SETTING

The fight, flight or freeze response, sometimes referred to as the stress response, comes from the part of our brain called the Amygdala.

All of us will have different situations that can trigger these responses and the severity of our reactions will vary too.

In a classroom setting, the 3 responses to stress have all evolved from the need to keep safe.

It is important to remember that if a child has encountered a stressful experience previously, they may be reacting to the association between something else.

The reaction may appear to have come completely out of the blue, but something has triggered their behaviour.

What can we do as parents, to understand what may be triggering our children and young people?

Lift Someone Out of Loneliness

Loneliness is an issue that can affect us all, young or old, at any point in our lives. We might live in a busy city or a rural location, on our own or with others and still feel isolated.

You should not blame yourself for feeling like you are struggling, now or at any other time.
