Preparing for Parent-Teacher Conferences

As we begin to schedule parent-teacher conferences, here are some things that you can do, as a parent, to help to make the conference a success:
  1. Talk with your child before the conference and explain that the meeting is to help you learn about how your child is doing in school.
  2. Prepare questions that you might have such as: Does my child pay attention in class? What can we do at home to better support school expectations? How is my child doing socially? What have you noticed about my child’s spiritual life?
  3. Be ready to collaborate and work with the teacher. Our teachers all have your child’s best interest in mind and want to work with you to solve any problems.
  4. Be on time. Help us start and end each scheduled conference on time.
  5. Pray for your child and your child’s teacher each day.
  6. Talk with your child after conferences to share what you learned. Celebrate success and work together to solve problems, in collaboration with the teacher.
