Let the good times roll!

The Lion's Roar Newsletter will be taking a pause next week for the Mardi Gras holiday, which is Monday, Feb. 28 and Tuesday, March 1. Campus will be closed both days. We will be back with our weekly cycle on Tuesday, March 8.

Various events are taking place this week to celebrate and prepare for the holiday before the break. Southeastern's Chapter of the NAACP is hosting a "Let the Midterms Roll" study session tonight at 6 p.m. in Fayard Hall Room 225.

On Feb. 23, students can stop by the Mardi Gras Health and Safety table at 11 a.m. in the Student Union. The Campus Activities Board is hosting Mardi Gras Field Day 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Lee Field on Feb. 24, where students can enjoy food, music and activities for the final event of I Heart CAB Week.

Black History Month and BSU Week also continue with upcoming events. Tonight at 7 p.m., Black Student Union will present a candlelight vigil for victims of police brutality at the Katrina Memorial Fountain in front of Fayard Hall.

MISA is presenting "Exhibiting African American Culture" on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. in the Computer Science & Technology Building. Southeastern students will display their art, literature and more in celebration of African American culture and history.
