Gear Up for Green Shirt Day 2022


April 7, 2022 is the fourth annual Green Shirt Day. On Feb. 28, the campaign kicked off at a media event in Regina, SK.

Meet the mighty Orgamites, now on social media! 

The Orgamites, a team of nine life-saving organs, are now on social media! And, they too are all geared up for Green Shirt Day. Check out the new Orgamites in Canada Facebook page and Instagram. Don't forget to like it and share with your friends and family! And check out all the Orgamites have to offer on the official Canadian website. Follow along as the Orgamites help educate and raise awareness over the coming weeks. Green Shirt day inspired downloads and more are also available on Orgamites.ca

A resource page on the Organs & Tissues for Life Education portal helps teachers bring Logan's legacy to their classroom on April 7.  

New resource in the living donation learning centre

       

My Paired Donation Coach Canada is a series of animated videos developed for patients, their friends and family, and potential donors to learn about the national Kidney Paired Donation program and how it may help some patients receive a kidney transplant.  This new resource has been added to the living donation learning resource centre on blood.ca/livingdonation

A required part of training for critical care residents, but free to anyone working in organ donation and transplantation,  this curriculum is a key component of our national work to help shift culture to one where organ donation is a normal part of quality end of life care. We're pleased to share a recent enhancement to this curriculum by adding a submodule about organ donation following medical assistance in dying (MAiD).
