SERVING THE CITIZENS OF OAK HILLS SINCE 1982
Annual Meeting: Know Before You Go!

We are looking forward to our Annual Meeting on Sunday, February 27.

It's always nice when we can gather together - in person - as residents of Oak Hills. Whether you're one of the legacy residents of Oak Hills or you're new to the neighborhood, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in our community and learn about issues that are important to all of us.

We hope you find ways to contribute to the neighborhood, whether through civic engagement with our elected officials, service to the neighborhood through our OHCA Board, or joining some of the clubs that are active in Oak Hills (such as the Book Club, the Parks Committee, or PAWS).

City Council Redistricting
Our City Council members for Oak Hills - District 7 Councilwoman Ana Sandoval and District 8 Councilman Manny Palaez - will be attending our OHCA Annual Meeting. They will be accompanied by Laura Garza, the District and Zoning Director. They'll be able to share information about City Council redistricting with our neighborhood.

As you know, our city is growing. Because of that growth - which was documented in the 2020 Census, council district boundaries must be redrawn to distribute the city's population more evenly. An Advisory Committee is now studying the issue through a series of public meetings and working sessions. All of those meetings are open to the public. You can find the schedule here. Additionally, you can use this link to sign up to attend the next meeting - which will be held Monday, February 28. That link also includes information about the process and some proposed maps. The Advisory Committee will review the redistricting process for the City of San Antonio and make recommendations to City Council this summer.

There has been discussion around redrawing the lines so that the Oak Hills neighborhood is combined into one council district. Currently, Oak Hills is split between Districts 7 and 8.
During our OHCA Annual Meeting, we will have a chance to discuss the issue with our council representatives and learn more about the process.

We will have elections for our 2022 Board of Directors:

OHCA Directory Distribution
The directories will be available for pickup at Sunday's meeting.
During our Annual Meeting on February 27, PAWS will be collecting Food, Pet Supplies, and monetary donations.

You can bring items such as food, toys, blankets, towels, and treats to the meeting at Oak Hills Country Club, and PAWS volunteers will pick them up. PAWS helps our community's pets and the strays who are found in our neighborhood.

They cover all expenses related to fostering pets and adopting them, so it's important that we continue to support their efforts through donations.
