Thank you to all those who bought bakes from me this week. I hope you are enjoying yours accompanied by some weekend sunshine! I had poached egg on walnut rye this morning but unfortunately we are already out of Hot Cross Buns and will have to wait till next week. It was lovely to bake these again on Thursday morning and be reminded of the delightful spicy aroma. I am working on a vegan version for my daughter who is back from university and hinting heavily that I didn't fulfil my promise last year - so do let me know if a vegan version would be of interest to you.
 
Next week I am baking 3 types of soda bread to celebrate my Irish heritage and St Patrick’s Day which falls on next week's bake day 17th March –

Beetroot & Pumpkin Seed (& Bronze Award winning)
Guinness & Black Treacle


Plus Seeded Sourdough, Apricot Babka and Hot Cross Buns.

St Patrick’s Day Class #CookForUkraine fundraiser
I am running a short bake-along next Thursday to raise funds for Ukraine. Please join me if you would like to learn to bake potato farls and my award winning beetroot pumpkin seed soda bread. All profits will be donated to #CookForUkraine UNICEF UK’s Ukraine appeal.

The class starts at 11:30am and should be finished by 1pm or thereabouts. Hot & cold drinks and other nibbles will be provided. If you are interested in this for another time and there's a few people interested - evenings are possible - please drop me a line to let me know and I'll see what I can do.
