It is exciting to be worship "in person" once again at Spirit of Joy. As you know we continue our live stream opportunity each week for those who are unable to be with us. SEE THE LINKS BELOW IN THIS NEWSLETTER.
DATES TO REMEMBER TOO Each Wednesday in March at 6 p.m. we will enjoy our Soup Suppers and a devotional service with the theme In View of God's Mercy. We will look at the Mercy of Temptation, of Suffering, of Betrayal. in Relationships,and in Service. Bring your favorite soup to share with others, and plan to sign up on the weekly Soup sign up chart.
Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday April 10th, with the festival choir sharing in the Cantata.
On Good Friday April 15th we will once again have a Service of Shadows and the Seven Last Words, beginning at 7 p.m.
Our Easter Service Sunday April 17th is planned as a Service of Celebration at 9 a.m. Easter morning. Youth will be planning to provide an Easter breakfast following the service.
We look forward to this Lenten and Easter Season and our journey together,
Youth Group will continue on Sunday's from 4:30-6:00 p.m. at Spirit of Joy Church. 7th-12th graders are invited to join us. I encourage each student to think about bringing one friend along with them to the youth group gathering to share in all of the fun and faith!
The second semester of Confirmation will begin on Sunday, March 27th at 8:30 a.m. before service begins at 9:00 a.m. If a student was doing confirmation in the fall then they must continue for the spring semester to be fully confirmed this year.
I have been in contact with Sonshine Ministries for the annual summer youth trip for our high schoolers! More information will be given to me this coming month. Our dates to be at the lake are Monday June 13th- Saturday, June 18th. We currently have 9 spots available. More information about pricing, deposits, and travel will be given out as soon as possible.
To go along with our summer trip we will be discussing a fundraiser that can be held for the youth in the next couple of months. If you have any suggestions or donations feel free to contact me!
Finally, the youth will be hosting Easter SundayBreakfast after the service. If you are interested in helping or donating supplies please contact me!
