Featured Project

RIVERFRONT  RESIDENCE

Our featured project this month is The Riverfront. It  is a slice of pristine goodness, a one of a kind residential development in the form of four 5-bedroom villas nestled in the lush Karen suburbs off Murishu Road.

The outstanding prairie-style architecture with a contemporary interpretation is nothing short of awe-aspiring. Not only will residents enjoy homes with unparalleled levels of luxury and comfort, but also access a wide array of social amenities within minutes. Riverfront is just the ideal home for a tranquil living and the best place for your kids to grow with nature. The indoor-outdoor transition is enhanced through the internal garden open to sky, double volume lounge with excellent views to the backyard, expansive terraces with jacuzzi on the family terrace and the outdoor entertainment area overlooking the pool.

All the members of our team want to move in as soon as construction is done.Wouldn't you?

A Basket Case?

Picnic...or another day at work?

Could you imagine going to work everyday at the “Big Basket”? This was the case for the workers at Longaberger Company in Ohio. At 7-storey’s tall covering an area of 180,000sq this building was a replica of the company’s best-selling product, we might say Novelty Architecture at its best.

Architects had initially proposed designs that were merely suggestive of a basket until the company's founder Dave Longaberger pointed to one of the baskets and told them to “make it look exactly like that”. And just like that it came to life!

The seven-story, 180,000 square feet building was designed by the Longaberger Company and built by NBBJ and Korda Nemeth Engineering. While the building doesn’t look too complicated, there’s a fair bit of detail in the design. The large handles of the basket are heated in the winter to prevent any damage, and there are two product tags attached to the building that resemble the gold-leafed labels attached to each basket sold by Longaberger. These features are what make this wicker basket building charming, adding to its lighthearted design.

And folks, that is what we call attention to detail!

/novelty architecture/
A type of architecture in which buildings and other structures are given unusual shapes for purposes such as advertising or to copy other famous buildings without any intention of being authentic.

Africa to the World!

First African to win The Pritzker Architecture Prize

To greater news!

Diébédo Francis Kéré, architect, educator and social activist, has been selected as the 2022 Laureate of the Pritzker Architecture Prize.

This is a great feat as he is the first African Architect to receive this award and even greater because his body of works shows us the power of materiality rooted in place. His buildings, for and with communities, are directly of those communities – in their making, their materials, their programs and their unique characters.
Below are some of his works:
For more information about him and his collection of works click here to be enthralled by his interesting approach to social and environmental justice.
