Welcome to the Friends of the South Shore Country Club Weekly Newsletter - Volume 1
As the SSCC celebrates its Centennial in 2022, many changes and improvements are being instituted as part of a Master Plan to ensure continued success over the next 100 years.
Opened as a 9 hole course in 1922, the Town of Hingham purchased the 160 acre facility in 1988 for $7MM. The SSCC remains a public facility, containing approximately 160 acres of open space, accommodating an 18 hole golf course, 10 lane bowling alley, 3 golf simulators, restaurant and banquet facilities. As an Enterprise Fund, the Club manages its own operations while working within a budget restricted by generated revenue.
The Friends of the SSCC was formed as a 501c3 in 2017 to support capital projects identified by the Country Club Management Committee (CCMC).
Thank you for supporting this most valuable town asset!
