Out of The Ashes
March 18, 2022
The weather is not going to cooperate after all.

We are looking at tentative dates in April and will continue to keep you updated.

Sorry to postpone!
Greetings, beautiful people of God!

My name is Andrew Bilbrey, but everyone calls me Drew.  Since 2020 I have served as worship leader for the 9:30 Contemporary Service at Cokesbury Church. These last two years have been a challenge to say the least, with the global pandemic, hurricane damage to the church, moving AV/sound equipment, rebuilding stage, wiring, planning, and much more. It has been extremely rewarding serving during these last two years, and I look forward to many more.

I have been married to my beautiful wife Jenny for 18 years.  Together we raised three children who are now adults - Victoria, Halie, & Branden. We are best known as Pop Pop and Mimzie to 4 grandchildren - Aiden, Catelyn, and Nova, whom we see nearly every day, and Alana, who lives in Minnesota.  Many of you know Aiden as you see him in the church weekly. He loves church, enjoys being part of the congregation and loves music. Catelyn and Nova come with us often as well. We often find Aiden and his sisters playing church in our back yard, and they argue over who will be the pastor and who will be the worship leader. It is awesome to witness this and watch my grandchildren become closer to Jesus and learn to serve Him.

If you have ever attended our 9:30 service in person or online, you know, I have the awesome privilege of serving with many talented musicians. I could not lead worship without this amazing team: Paul on bass, Craig on bass and electric guitar, Dean on acoustic guitar, Leah on drums, vocals and piano, Mike on the harmonica, William on electric guitar, Nolan on drums and vocals, Sarah on vocals and Rob that fills in on drums from time to time. They are in my daily prayers, and I love them very much.

We desire to lead the congregation with a heart of worship and not performance. It is all about the worship and praise to our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that the music lifts hearts to our Lord and brings Christ to people and people to Christ.

I was driving to work today, and a Mercy Me song came on Spotify. I was touched and it brought me to tears. I was thinking about my personal challenges with family, work, church, current world events, gas prices, inflation, etc. Through the gift of this song, I was reminded of how much my Lord loves me, and that He is still on the throne no matter what!

How great is Your Love, so much higher than the heavens, with faithfulness that reaches the sky.

Be exalted oh God, and let your Glory reign.

Let it reign, let it reign, let it reign.

Love always,

Drew

Calling on Readers and Room Decorators!
Dear Cokesbury,
We have a fantastic upcoming event for our community and our children’s center. We would love for you to come and join us. Starry Story Night is a time for families to come together, have dinner, and enjoy storytime on Wednesday the 30th as we celebrate March as National Reading Month.

We are inviting three readers and three room decorators to help make this event a success. Each reader will pick an age-appropriate book (we have some in the Children’s Center Library), and each room decorator will help decorate your room and bring your book to life. This event will be fun!

Please, give Genevieve a call at the church office or send her an email at genevieve@cokesburychurch.com to let her know to count you in!

Don't forget to invite a family, RSVP for dinner here, and join us for Starry Story Night.
