March is National Nutrition Month, Celebrate a World of Flavors!

Every March we celebrate National Nutrition Month, and this year the theme is Celebrate a World of Flavors. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition and health. We are all unique with different bodies, goals, backgrounds and tastes!  Check out the toolkit below for graphics, tip sheets, and activities to inspire you and your colleagues to create healthy habits that celebrate global heritage and introduce everyone to new foods and flavors.

Wellness Tip: Move Your Body
Earlier this year, the CDC released an updated map of inactivity prevalence in adults.  When asked "During the past month, other than your regular job, did you participate in any physical activities or exercises such as running, calisthenics, golf, gardening, or walking for exercise", over 20% of DC residents responded "No".  According to the CDC, as little as 30 minutes of movement each day contributes to lower risk of a number of chronic diseases including hypertension, heart attack , and stroke.  View the map below to learn more about the study.
