From our entire staff, we wish everyone a safe and relaxing spring break.  Please take this time to enjoy time with family and friends, to recharge, and to be ready to have a strong finish to the year. Take some time to revisit your child’s goals for the year and identify some focus areas.

We have had an amazing couple of weeks.  Today scientists from Anschutz Neuroscience Program visited the school to work with students on concepts like brain plasticity.  Students were able to see a real brain as they learned about the different areas of the brain and what they control in the body. Middle schoolers continued visits to CU Boulder and Colorado School of Mines as they work with individual scientists as part of the Earth Explorers program.  We have 10 robotics teams heading to the World Competition in Texas.  This is a huge accomplishment considering there are 25 SVVSD teams attending out of over 150 teams district wide and 10 of them are from Soaring Heights.  Our wrestling team had a successful season with many top place finishes at the end of season tournament.  Additionaly we had, incredible performances by our 4th graders at Erie High School, Band and Orchestra concerts, along with strong representation at the All-State choir concert.

State testing will begin on April 11 through April 21 followed by make-ups.  Please make sure your student is here during this timeframe and is well rested.  It will be very important that your student arrives with a charged iPad.  We will send out more information when we return from break.

Do not hesitate to let us know if you have questions or need assistance.

Best wishes,

Road Construction on County Road 5: Road Closure

Beginning Monday, March 14, County Road 5 will be closed to all traffic north of the Soaring Heights main entrance. Please click here for more information from the Town of Erie and a map of the impacted area.

Both entrances to Soaring Heights will remain open; however, they will only be accessible for cars traveling north on County Road 5, or traveling east on the newly opened Flora View Dr.  Cars exiting the parking lots will not be allowed to turn north.  If needed, Erie PD will be on-site to assist with traffic flow and pedestrian safety.
Mobile Black History Museum

Our students had an opportunity this week to walk through a Mobile Black History Museum curated by one of Soaring Heights families.  Dr. Cole and his family have been building this collection for many years.

Soaring Heights students may submit an essay from their visit addressing "Someone in history I never knew about, but after ready about them I am inspired..."  Dr. Cole will award Rockies tickets for the best essay.
