Alison Margary 
Alison is a Chartered Occupational Hygienist and current President of the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) - The Chartered Society for Worker Health Protection Alison has enjoyed a varied career as an Occupational Hygiene specialist and senior leader within the energy and petrochemical industries and since 2017 has been working as a consultant.

She has worked at both local and corporate levels (nationally and internationally) setting, influencing and implementing Occupational Hygiene standards and guidance as part of multi-disciplinary teams. She has held leadership roles managing complex cross-business projects, chairing working groups and leading networks both internally and externally as part of cross-industry activities to identify priorities, develop standards/guidance and support/influence legislative developments. 

Andrew Orfanos

Andrew Orfanos is a full member of the AIOH, a certified Occupational Hygienist and a Past-President of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists.  

He currently represents the AIOH on the Board of the International Occupational Hygiene Association and on the Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency, Management and Removal Committee.  

In his tenure as AIOH President, Andrew lobbied heavily to government and stakeholder groups the importance of airborne transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the spread of COVID-19 throughout Australian workplaces, particularly amongst frontline health care workers.  

Throughout 2021, Andrew and his colleagues at VA Sciences has worked with numerous clients to characterise the risk of airborne transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in a number of sensitive settings to identify effective and practical risk-based controls to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 infection due to this important exposure pathway.  

Simon Witts

Simon Witts is a Chartered Engineer with over 35 years experience in the design of Healthcare facilities Worldwide. Simon has extensive experience in system design, building energy and system analysis, as well as site-wide low carbon design strategies.    

In 2019 Simon co-authored and edited the Victorian Healthcare Engineering Guidelines.   

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Simon has worked with a range of government and private sector clients utilising his 30 years experience in building HVAC design and computational fluid dynamic (CFD) modelling to characterise air movement in buildings with the aim of optimising aerosol movement across building areas to manage the risk of infection associated with the airborne transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
